Metroid co-op online

19.09.09 Been sick.

Hey hello,
Sorry about the leck of updates i've been really sick the past few days!
but now im back in action!
AlexR donated me a MUCH better movement/graphic engine for this game (thanks AlexR)
and he will be helping me when needed!

Today ill be making enemies + Sprites for them!
They will be extra strong since 2 players are going to shoot on them!

Ill be finishing 1player mode first and then ill redo the Co-op part!
I hope i can keep you guys more up te date from now! - MKG

08.09.09 More work to be done :o.

Woah, there is so much work to be done.. i don't know where to start! :P
Today i worked on a new feature for the icebeam.
it can actually freeze a enemy for a few seconds (no bosses!)
Im tweaking up the hanging and climbing of the ceiling and ledges, it allmost works perfect!
I'm finishing off the sprites for it, and added AlexR's hanging edits :D! (thanks)

If i make more progress today ill post it.. else, untill tomorrow!

UPDATE: I just finished hanging and climbing.. they work very nice!
BUG: I got a bug when shooting right while pressing the runright button.
i've looked trough the whole player code but didn't find it.. had this one since the start..
ill find that basterd! :P( it's so weird because when i shoot left and run it works... )

07.09.09 Not much yet

Hey, ill be updating this post today.. so keep an eye on the site
there is allot to be done.. bit of animating, some of the coding..
i gotto say, the game is getting playable in singleplayer mode!
If that works i can focus on the co-op part again (it worked before but i updated P1 so much
that P2 is outdated xD!! so P1 will have more abilities if you play it now!

so keep an eye on the site, ill be posting more updates later!

06.09.09 Small fixxes and some things added.

Hey!
Sorry that i had no update yesterday.. i had some but didn't post them!
well whats new?
o Added Chargebomb, when you are charging your gun and you go into morphball you spawn bombs!
o Added particles to the shooting explosion
o Added Screwattack
- Hanging on the Ceiling and Ledges is still W.I.P. very bugged because of the animations :P
+ Weapons have temp. hud sprites.. will be added soon!
+ Enemies drop stuff now!
+ Started working on ingame saving, But when you quit the game your save is lost!
+ Minimap bug is fixxed so the minimap works (minimap by DoctorM64)
* Added a mini kraid to test my boss HP bar on (got it from AlexR) (maybe in the release.. not sure)
? Thinking about making a subscreen, the only thing is.. will it be used?

05.09.09 Hang, climb n swing!!

Well today I started on the hanging code, it was pretty easy to make (the basic)
but then there was a problem. whatever i tried my animations won't show up.
so, the code works.. it works ingame.. but the animations are missing for now.
the only animation that works is the one on the ceiling.

Other ToDo:
I = item sprite needed
W = weapon sprite needed
C = code work has to be (re)done
FX = there needs to be fx om that item.

Weapons in verion 1.0 (for now):
Power beam - W
Charge beam - I W
Rocket - I W
Super rocket - I
Turretrocket - I
Clusterrocket - I

Hijump - I
Spacejump - I

Morphingball - [done]
Bombs - I
Powerbomb - I (maybe this one is added in version 2)
Spiderball - I
Jumpball - I (this one is optional.. i think ill make it standard to jump with MB.. right?)

Varia suit - I FX
Gravity suit - I FX

Hanging on the ceiling
Walljump

You may help by submitting sprites on the forum, there is a chance I use them in the actual game! :D

04.09.09 Small update on the list below!!..

o Finished working on Cluster Rocket (sprites for clusters still needed, the rocket is done)
o Testing Turret rocket, need sprites for the rocket.. bullets are done
o Testing Fire rockets.. pretty much to be done.. it just don't wanna work! :P
o Added feature, No gravity with gravity suit in the water

03.09.09 Something new!..

Having the minimap and speedbooster allmost done i desided to go on to the next item: Weapons!
What will there be new (for now):
PLANNING:
- Cluster Rockets (like in the screenshot but with new sprites!)
- Fire rockets
- Ice rockets
- more to come...

Have to finish:
- Upgrade items for all weapons
- Longshot
- Speedbooster
- Minimap
- Shooting in MP
- More different doors (5, 10, 20 rocket doors, super rocket doors, p1 doors, p2 doors and more..)

o Made more pictures for you guys! (Shake and clusters! it reminds me of worms 2 XD! the 2nd one got the new cluster rocket sprite!)

02.09.09 Small updates for now..

Since i had to work today i don't have much to tell
I'm working on:
- Giving every player his own vars (since i used globals untill now)
- Working on Speedbooster (allmost works!)
- Working on the minimap (minimap got just 1 bug left on save)
- Trying to get shooting in MP mode to work.
- *NEW* added blue doors, they open when you're near! (you can shoot them open too!)

More info later today or tomorrow.

01.09.09 Telling you how far i am

o Basic movement works in online mode
o Basic weapons are ingame
- Normal gun, Charge gun, Wave beam, Spazer beam, Plasma beam
- Morphball, Bombs, Superbombs, Spiderball
- 2 Types of powersuit (every player has it's own abilities)
- Rockets, Super rockets
- Hispeed boots, Space jump, Screw attack
- Speedbooster [ W.I.P ]
o Basic map system (Thanks do DoctorM64) [ W.I.P ]

+ Added Spacejump today
+ Added covered secret places today
+ Doors update on multiplayer
+ Made some new tiles (well, i edited a metroid fusion tileset)
+ Tested gameplay online, still no lag at all!
